ABSTRACT

The main purpose of our study is to form a demonstration model of the main processes for introducing digital technologies into the human resources management system for engineering enterprises. Digital transformations are associated with management changes, which are based on the technologies of the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, blockchain, machine learning, Industry 4.0, Big Data in all spheres of public life. Investing in human capital has always been considered a productive investment. The digital economy has increased the urgency of increasing labor productivity through the transformation of human governance mechanisms. The main and key processes of the introduction of digital technologies in the human resources management system of the engineering enterprise were considered. The digitalization of society has radically changed people's lives and opened up new opportunities in the field of human resources management. The digital transformation of the human resources system affects all types of businesses, from large corporations to small micro-firms. As a result, the key stages and processes of implementation of digital technologies in the human resources management system of the enterprise were presented. The research methodology consisted of the application of modeling and graphical display methods.

ABSTRACT

In the context of the industrial revolution 4.0 that is firmly taking place globally, the digital transformation process is considered a revolution that changes the operating and business model. In Vietnam, logistics is one of eight areas that need to be prioritized in the national conversion program to 2025, the orientation towards 2030 by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 749/QĐ-TTg. Digital transformation is an essential solution that helps businesses improve their competitiveness, increase labor productivity, sustainably develop businesses, and integrate with the global economy. This study analyzes the influencing factors of digital transformation and the situation in Vietnam's logistics enterprises. This paper used a qualitative research method carried out through direct interviews with 20 digital transformation experts in the field of logistics about the current situation, adjusting models and scales, and discussing research results. Quantitative research was conducted online through 258 survey questionnaires of logistics enterprises in the country. The authors performed descriptive statistics, tested the scale, analyzed EFA using SPSS software, and tested the research hypotheses. Research results indicate that five factors—managers, digital transformation human resources, information technology, investment cost, and support services for digital transformation—affect the digital conversion activity in logistics enterprises. Afterward, the research team proposed solutions to promote this operation in Vietnam's logistics enterprises, contributing to implementing critical tasks of the government's digital transformation.

ABSTRACT

Using tracked changes from a large open-source software platform, this paper studies how working from home affected the output of individuals working in tech. The basis of the natural experiment comes from idiosyncratic and state-imposed workplace closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. I find a negative but almost-negligible change in individual-level output of 0.5 percent (standard error of 0.091 percent). Overall, and based on descriptive analyses of the time-stamped data, tracked changes in software development cadences approximate regular work activity and provide a useful avenue for future studies of work. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.

ABSTRACT

Foodsters United, une campagne de syndicalisation en milieu de travail menée par des coursiers alimentaires de Toronto, montre que, meme dans l'économie des petits boulots, les méthodes de syndicalisation classiques fonctionnent. Les Foodsters ont contesté avec succes leur classification erronée en tant qu'entrepreneurs indépendants, ont fait signer des cartes syndicales a plus de 40 pour cent d'une main-d'œuvre importante et ont déclenché un vote syndical qu'ils ont remporté avec 88,8 pour cent de soutien. Ces victoires ont été tempérées par un revers dévastateur: leur employeur, Foodora, s'est retiré des marchés canadiens. Néanmoins, ce que Foodsters United a réalisé grâce a l'organisation du lieu de travail a soutenu sa transformation en Gig Workers United, qui organise tous les travailleurs de la plateforme de livraison a Toronto. Bien que les sociétés de plateforme comme Foodora promeuvent l'idée que l'économie des petits boulots est sans précédent, ses continuités historiques sont plus importantes que ses discontinuités. Il est organisé de maniere thématique selon les méthodes classiques d'organisation du lieu de travail, en particulier celles développées dans la tradition d'organisation industrielle, y compris l'organisation des conversations, la cartographie, la mise en tableaux, l'identification des dirigeants, l'identification des problemes et la création d'organisations démocratiques.Alternate :Foodsters United, a workplace organizing campaign by Toronto food couriers, shows that, even in the gig economy, the classic organizing methods work. The Foodsters successfully challenged their misclassification as independent contractors, got over 40 per cent of a large workforce to sign union cards, and triggered a union vote that they won with 88.8 per cent support. These victories were tempered by a devastating setback: their employer, Foodora, exited from Canadian markets. Nevertheless, what Foodsters United achieved through workplace organizing sustained its transformation into Gig Workers United, which is organizing all delivery platform workers in Toronto. Although platform companies like Foodora promote the idea that the gig economy is unprecedented, its historical continuities are more important than its discontinuities. This is also true of the workplace organizing in the gig economy. Foodsters United achieved substantial victories, not because they invented new organizing methods but because they adapted the classic methods, in often ingenious ways, to their gig economy workplace. This article is based on interviews with the campaign organizers. It is organized thematically according to classic workplace organizing methods, particularly those developed in the industrial organizing tradition, including organizing conversations, mapping, charting, leader identification, issue identification, and the creation of democratic organizations.

ABSTRACT

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many sectors were affected, including the world economic sector, which had fallen sharply, leading to several countries experiencing recession. some businesses closed due to government restrictions. However, this is different from the food industry, which is required to continue producing to meet food needs during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is not in line with the production system that is being implemented because there are several obstacles related to the supply of raw materials for production and ensuring that the health level of workers is maintained during a pandemic. This is a challenge for the food industry, because on the one hand they have to meet the needs of consumers while the production system is hampered because it can be caused by an unusual division of working hours. Therefore, a literature study was conducted regarding the state of the food industry production system during the Covid-19 pandemic and examined several policies that could be taken to ensure that the food production system continues as expected and supports food security.

ABSTRACT

This is an article of Labour Economics and Law & Economics, which explains the paradigm switch, from welfare state economy to wellbeing economics. This switch means the change of rules, institutions and processes, moving from a level of heteronomous responsibility with a public compliance system (controlled by the Public Institutions with statutory law and sanctions) to pass to the next level of autonomous responsibility with a social accountability and self-compliance system (decentralized network with improvements in the business culture by contracts and commitments). It is paid attention to the state of the art, with a comparative study of the scientific and professional sources and the knowledge production. Finally, there is a diagnosis in the challenges of wellbeing economics and its autonomous compliance to face the COVID-19 crisis and Horizon 2030.

ABSTRACT

This study examines the change in labor productivity in Vietnam by means of a Fisher index decomposition and attribution analysis. The results can be summarized as follows. First, the aggregate labor productivity is decomposed into pure labor productivity and structural change from 2007 to 2019. All of the aggregate labor productivity, pure labor productivity, structural change, and interaction terms have increased by 69.83%, 36.74%, 24.20%, and 8.89%, respectively. Second, the percentage change in labor productivity is attributed to 20 sub-industries by pure labor productivity and structural change. The sum of the multi-period attribution of pure labor productivity and structural change shows that the manufacturing industry positively dominates (15.84%) and plays a key role in economic development. The positive pure labor productivity and structural change in the manufacturing industry imply that the structural bonus hypothesis does hold in the industry. The findings also indicate that pure labor productivity, especially in the service industry, should be improved to sustain economic growth.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to comprehensively review previous studies and discover implications for the sustainable growth engines of middle market enterprise (MME) of Korea using meta-analysis. Since Germany’s hidden champion companies are considered as benchmarking targets because their economic environment and size are similar to those of Korean MMEs, a meta-analysis was conducted on the previous studies of them. As a result of integrating the effect sizes of input and output factors according to the process of the Program Logic model from the viewpoint of dynamic capabilities, 198 in Germany and 229 in Korea were derived. It was found that, unlike Korean companies, the number of skilled workers, labor productivity, CEO experience, and Innovation activities within the firm had a significant impact on Germany’s hidden champion companies. In addition, industry and region-oriented innovation networks and family businesses were identified as important variables. Meta-analysis collects a large number of individual studies in order to integrate the results and statistically assess the data. As a result, it will be used as basic data for developing models for academic research in the future. In addition, it will provide implications for sectors in which Korean MMEs should concentrate their efforts in order to create an innovative ecosystem.
